For many years, quartz has been the countertop of choice. Homeowners love it for its strength, beauty, and easy maintenance. Behind the scenes, however, the industry has been addressing a growing concern about crystalline silica. Prolonged exposure to silica dust during the cutting and finishing process can pose health risks for workers. This has led to a global effort to develop safer and more sustainable alternatives.
In response, Caesarstone has introduced Caesarstone ICON™, a groundbreaking collection of silica-free surfaces that will become widely available in 2026. ICON represents a major step forward for both the design community and homeowners.
What Makes Caesarstone ICON™ Different?
No Crystalline Silica: Caesarstone ICON™ is engineered with innovative minerals that provide the same durability and luxurious appearance as quartz, without the health risks.
Sustainability: Each surface contains up to 80 percent recycled content, making Caesarstone ICON™ a smart choice for environmentally responsible design.
Design Versatility: The collection includes a variety of natural tones and textures, from elegant marble-inspired veining to soft concrete finishes. These options make it easy to find the perfect fit for kitchens, bathrooms, and custom furniture.
Why It Matters for Homeowners
Choosing a silica-free countertop is about more than style. It is also a commitment to health and sustainability. Caesarstone ICON™ reduces risks for the craftspeople who fabricate and install these surfaces while giving homeowners peace of mind. Families can enjoy the same durability and design impact they expect from quartz, while knowing the product is safer and more eco-conscious.
The Future of Countertops
Caesarstone ICON™ sets a new benchmark for the entire countertop industry. As the demand for healthier, more sustainable materials grows, it is expected that other manufacturers will follow Caesarstone’s lead. Silica-free surfaces are likely to become the new standard for high-end design in the years ahead.
